This can play out in a number of different ways. The foods we eat have the power to give us a surge of energy when we need it most—or set us up for the 3 pm energy slump, which usually occurs when we focus too much on foods with quick-release energy in the form of refined carbohydrates. A healthy diet throughout life promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes, supports normal growth, development and aging, helps to maintain a healthy body weight, and reduces the risk of chronic disease leading to overall health and well-being.
Many people feel tired and lack the energy needed to function at their best throughout the day. However, drinking enough water, following a balanced diet, getting enough sleep and exercise, and being sociable can benefit both your energy levels and your overall health. If we don’t take in the proper amount of water through out the day our body doesn’t absorb the nutrients required for balanced chemistry, we become agitated and restless at night and never reach a deep sleep.
